Welcome to Vault-Budget. These terms govern your use of the service. They are written to be read, not to discourage you.
1. Description of the service
Vault-Budget is a personal and professional budgeting application available on Web, iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS and Windows. The service operates under zero-knowledge : your financial data is encrypted locally on your device before any transmission.
2. Account creation
Signing up requires a valid email address, a strong password and a passphrase that encrypts your vault. One account is intended for a single person, with the exception of family vaults available on the Vault+ pro plan.
3. Passphrase responsibility
Your passphrase is never sent to our servers. That is the direct consequence of zero-knowledge : we are technically unable to know it or reset it.
If you lose your passphrase, no recovery is possible. During onboarding, a BIP39 Recovery Kit (12 words) is provided : keep it offline, somewhere safe. Without your passphrase and without your Recovery Kit, your data is permanently inaccessible.
4. Plans and billing
- Free : free of charge, limited to 2 banks, 2 accounts and no synchronisation
- Vault+ : unlimited accounts, encrypted multi-device sync, priority support
- Vault+ pro : everything in Vault+, plus family vaults, B2B modules and panic mode
Billing is handled by Stripe on monthly or annual cycles. Cancellation is self-service from your account area, with no minimum commitment. No prorated refunds unless required by law.
5. Service limits
- Offline-first : the app works without a connection, sync is optional
- Best-effort availability, no contractual uptime guarantee
- A server-side incident does not prevent local use of the app
- Local backups remain your responsibility
6. Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Security page. Deletion is preceded by a 30-day grace period, during which a simple login restores the account. After that delay, the erasure is permanent and irreversible.
7. Intellectual property
You remain the sole owner of your data. Vault-Budget retains ownership of its code, brand and documentation. No usage licence over your data is granted to us, by default or implicitly.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, French courts have sole jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions.
9. Changes to these terms
Any material change to these terms is notified to you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
